Nothing evokes images of a great Botswana adventure more than staying at iconic game lodges. We have selected two of the best lodges on some special concessions for this adventure. Therefore it is limited to resident guests. Your needs will be front and centre throughout this adventure and will be afforded a level of service second to none.
The Khwai Concession is on the northeastern edge of the Okavango Delta next to the Moremi Game Reserve. This vast area belongs to the local community. Migrating herds of Elephant favour the Mopane forests in this area and there are usually good wildlife sightings. The area used to be a hunting concession but is now managed as a conservation area.
The local community now runs eco-tourism initiatives, actively conserve the environment and manage the wildlife in the concession. The Khwai River flows through the concession – it is the first major water source that animals migrating down from the Linyanti concession encounter and there is always a high concentration of game along the river. Costs vary depending on date of travel Shoulder season April, May & November. High season -June to October.
Itinerary
Khwai Leadwood Day 1 – 4 8 – 11 June 2025
On arrival into Maun airport, one of our representative holding a signboard with your name will meet and welcome you off your regional scheduled flight (not included) . After collecting your luggage, you will be escorted to the light charter aircraft to meet your pilot for a short flight to your first camp. You will be met at the airstrip by your guide and from there it is a short road transfer to Khwai Leadwood.
Set within the Okavango Delta’s community-run Khwai Concession, this beautiful camp is tucked under the trees on the edge of the Khwai River. This river is all that separates the iconic Moremi Game Reserve and the concession, with hippos, elephants and even lions crossing over from time to time.
The elegantly designed camp hosts 6 standard tents and a family unit, keeping in line with the intimate and exclusive wilderness experience. The new camp effortlessly bridges the gap between luxury accommodation and feeling like you’re in the great African outdoors. Woven baskets and beaded décor, along with modern elements, create an authentic contemporary African style.
Khwai’s biggest drawcard is undoubtedly the plentiful and extraordinary wildlife – you’ll never be bored here! Adventure and relaxation are on offer as guests live out their ultimate safari experience – from setting off on a morning walking safari to enjoying a gin and tonic overlooking the Khwai River.

Linyanti Expeditions Day 4 – 7 11 – 14 June 2025
After breakfast and a morning activity (time permitting) pack your bags and with all the experiences and new images, you are transferred back to the airstrip for a scenic helicopter transfer into the Okavango Delta. On arrival, you will be met at the Linyanti Airstrip by your guide and from there it is a short road transfer to Camp.
Game drives are conducted by a personal guide in comfortable, specially designed game drive vehicles. For the more adventurous, guided walks are also available while fishing enthusiasts can enjoy fishing for a variety of species such as tilapia and tigerfish.
Maun – Day 7
After breakfast and a morning activity (time permitting), you will transfer by plane to Maun for your onward flight.
