Okavango Delta Safari Package

OKUTI (DAY 1, 2 & 3)

On arrival at Maun airport, one of our Botswana representatives holding a signboard with your name will meet and welcome you. After collecting your luggage, you will be escorted to the light charter aircraft to meet your pilot for a short flight. You will be met at the Xakanaxa Airstrip by your guide and from there, it is a short road transfer to Okuti Camp.

This delightful camp lies alongside the Maunachira River which flows through Xakanaxa Lagoon within the world-renowned Moremi Game Reserve, Camp Okuti is built amidst the wilderness of one of Botswana’s prime game viewing regions. Refurbishment of Okuti took place at the beginning of 2014 and draws its influence from the water which flows in front of the camp, with its abundant birdlife, fish and sandy riverbanks, it remains an oasis of serenity and peacefulness.

Situated in the heart of the world-renowned Moremi Game Reserve, guests can experience unhindered views in specially designed safari vehicles. Moremi Game Reserve is rich in wildlife, and its consistent year-round game viewing makes it ideal for first-time visitors to Botswana. Guests can also explore the Okavango Delta waterways by motorboat, and the area’s open lagoons and winding channels make it a birder’s paradise, complete with herons and storks in the breeding season. SHINDE (Days 4 & 5)

After breakfast and a morning activity (time permitting), is a transfer back to the airstrip to board the light aircraft and enjoy a scenic flight into the Okavango Delta. On arrival, you will be met at the Shinde Airstrip by your guide and from there, it is a short road transfer to Camp.

Nestled on a lush palm island in the heart of the northern Okavango Delta, Shinde is an intimate, classic camp located on the edge of Shinde Lagoon, which teems with animal and birdlife. The camp’s unique main area comprises a multi-tiered dining room and lounge which is set under canvas, under the shade of ebony and mangosteen trees.

Courtesy of its location Shinde can offer both water and land activities year-round. Motorboats or Mokoro provide a chance to experience the incredible bird, plant and reptile species found in the aquatic habitat of the Okavango Delta. Game drives are conducted by a personal guide in comfortable, specially designed game drive vehicles. For the more adventurous, guided walks are also available while fishing enthusiasts will enjoy fishing for a variety of species such as tilapia and tigerfish.

MAUN (DAY 6)

After breakfast and a morning activity (time permitting), you will be transferred by plane to Maun for your onward flight.

THE ABOVE PACKAGE INCLUDES :

•  All flights from Maun, between camps and back to Maun
•  All transfers to and from the airstrips and camps

• Emergency evacuation to a regional medical facility

• Medical and luggage insurance. Botswana camps have emergency evacuation to the nearest regional medical facility, but this covers emergencies only
•  International flights, visas or taxes
• Any excluded beverages/items
• Any extra purchases (curio shopping etc.)
• Tips and gratuities
